Welcome to BVFC, staffed by Dr. Stratton Douglas, board-certified in internal medicine, addiction medicine, and obesity medicine. He thinks of himself as a naturopathic internist. Dr. Douglas especially enjoys partnering with older adults interested in improving health and longevity while minimizing prescription drug use. We do not believe you can provide comprehensive, quality care in an eight-minute appointment. Our appointments are generally at least 30-60 minutes long. As a solo, private practice, we are able to honor your choice of specialists when you need a referral or hospital stay. Our goal is to advocate for patients; being independent allows us to do that. We even provide house calls if patients are too sick to drive to the clinic. Think of the clinic you grew up in, where the doctor was not rushed, and the clinic was not owned by the hospital, where the doctor knew their patients and had time to listen. We strive to return to the best parts of that practice.
Dr. Stratton Douglas, MD
Dr. Douglas received his medical education at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Tennessee. He treats a variety of acute illnesses such as flu and colds; helps patients manage chronic health conditons including diabetes, heart failure, dementia, neuropathy, depression, COPD, and high blood pressure; and also provides preventative care including wellness visits and physicals. As a board-certified internist, Dr. Douglas also offers several options for weight loss therapy and believes everyone should have access to a healthier life.
